How to read an SD card label

SD / microSD · SDHC / SDXC

SD and microSD describe physical size. SDHC covers more than 2 GB up to 32 GB; SDXC covers more than 32 GB up to 2 TB. An adapter lets a microSD fit a compatible SD slot. Check the device capacity limit as well.

C10 / U1 / U3 · V30 / V60 / V90

C10 and U1 each specify 10 MB/s minimum under their respective test conditions. U3 specifies 30 MB/s. V30, V60 and V90 specify sustained sequential writing at 30, 60 and 90 MB/s respectively. Match the symbol required by the manual for your mode.

UHS-I / UHS-II · A1 / A2

UHS-I and UHS-II describe the bus interface. To benefit from UHS-II when offloading files, use a reader that supports it. A1 and A2 address application workloads including small random reads and writes. For recording, look first for the required video class.

What 200 Mb/s means

Divide by eight: 200 Mb/s of video is 25 MB/s, or about 90 GB per hour. The maximum read speed on the box mainly concerns transferring files. Use average bitrate to size your storage and the manufacturer’s required class to accommodate recording peaks.
