The original full-size EXCERIA PLUS 128 GB SDXC carries European part number LNPL1M128GG4. It is distinct from the later G2. For a photographer looking at the 100 MB/s claim, the most informative owner report provides separate read and write figures.
One owner measured 63.1 MB/s write
Kioxia rates the 128 GB card at up to 65 MB/s write and 100 MB/s read. In March 2024, a buyer in the UAE reported 63.1 MB/s write and 80.4 MB/s read using H2testw 1.4 and considered the capacity genuine. Writes came close to the rated maximum on that setup. The reader and test volume were unspecified. SD Finder has not repeated the measurement.
4K at 30 fps and a Nikon Z6 II
One Japanese buyer reported trouble-free 4K30 recording without identifying the camera or bitrate. A separate buyer used a Nikon Z6 II for family stills, movies and landscapes without reporting trouble. These accounts describe different setups. Check your own camera’s recording mode against the card’s UHS-I, U3 and V30 ratings. At a constant 100 Mb/s, an hour uses about 45 GB and two hours about 90 GB. A V60 requirement calls for a different card.
An in-camera playback fault
Another Japanese owner reported that, after less than three months of weekend use, the camera could still shoot but could no longer review or delete images. Formatting only briefly cleared the problem. Files were still readable on a computer. Copy readable files before attempting another format. This report establishes neither the cause nor a failure rate.
Who would we choose it for?
Consider it for stills and video modes accepting V30 SDXC. Buyers in Italy and Türkiye liked its value but supplied no speed figures. Compare current prices with other 128 GB V30 cards. The reported read speed gives a reference for offloading photos, with the caveat that your reader may perform differently.
We analysed six international reviews marked as verified purchases from 2021–2024. The supplied excerpts do not identify the capacity of each purchase, so the reports cannot all be attributed definitively to the 128 GB variant.
